Hot thoughts
I have a million things I would love to blog about at the moment but I think the heat has fried my brain. As some would know this blog is my creative outlet in many ways but it mostly started because the Mr isn't really into "deep & meaningfuls" and I think he thought if I could put all my questions & thoughts using another medium to other people it would save him from pulling his beard out (as he has no hair).
The photo's above have absolutely nothing to do with anything - just some random pictures taken on a few of the latest adventures madam and I have been having. I do live in a beautiful area and am very lucky to have the beach, village atmosphere and the country all within a 5 km radius.
So....
My question at the moment is....do we ever really stop striving for acceptance? Whether it be from parents, partners, siblings, friends, random people, the checkout girl at the shop. I don't know. I like to think of myself as a fairly independant, free thinking, "don't give a shit" kinda girl. In a sense I am but I am also a "do the right thing", hope I didn't offend, don't hate me kinda girl. I am not sure if one is better than the other or should I be more of one and less of another...........

Hi Katy, thanks for your kind comment on my blog! This year I promised myself that I would stop caring too much about what others think of me and be more myself, speak out more, etc. I have ruffled a few feathers and probably lost a couple of friends (who weren't really friends anyway) but overall I feel a lot happier, I think it's important to say what you think and be yourself, as long as you're not hurting anyone. x PS your blog is lovely!
I have no idea what the answer is. I do know that my Mum wrote and launched a book last night that was loved by my family, the media, her friends and the general public but when my grandfather (her father) told her he loved it she bawled. She is all grown up but her father's acceptance meant everything in the world. Thanks for the question.
just be happy, that's all...
coming from Passionate Blogs, have a great day! I think I'm "bloggyblocked", can't put my thoughts into words so I'm going to go comment-crazy instead!
have a great day!
I think it's human nature to strive for acceptance, without it you're apart from the tribe, we're not born to be an island.
And I think it's a very brave and wonderful thing when people are able to shrug this off and live truly authentically, I would love to reach this stage but it's taken me about 4 years just to stop offering qualifying statements about the choices I make for my children (I've always DONE what I wanted to, but I've had to fight fight fight the need to "explain it").
Thank you all - definately gave me things to think about & work on x
good question...for me the answer lies in accepting oneself. because we can never please EVERYbody, allowing yourself to be or do what suits you (with consideration of others of course) means you don't need approval from elsewhere.
